Luther G. Murrell
Luther Gale Murrell, 75, of Piedmont passed away on Friday, June 23, 2017 at St. Francis Hospital. He was the widower of Carolyn Brown and the son of the late William “Bill” Murrell and the late Falbia Coker Murrell.
Luther is survived by his only daughter, Christy Murrell Jones (Mike); granddaughter, Madison Jones; a sister, Joyce M. Carlson; an uncle Walter Coker; and his lifelong caregiver, Sybil Fisher.
He was the co-founder of the Gantt Rescue Squad and worked with Colonial Oil and Collins Hammett. Luther loved wood working and visiting the Jockey lot. He was a member First Free Will Baptist Church in Greenville.
A graveside service will be held Tuesday, June 27, 2017, at 10:00 am at Woodlawn Memorial Park in Greenville.
