The heritage of Heritage Funeral Home actually started over 130 years ago when James A. Cannon started the Cannon Funeral Home in Fountain Inn, S.C. Arthur Dickson Cannon followed as a second generation funeral director. After three generations of service to the surrounding communities Cannon Funeral Home was sold to the Mackey Mortuary which was later sold to Stewart Enterprises, a national corporation based out of New Orleans. As a third generation funeral director, James A. Cannon, Sr. continued to serve the original organization until the decision was made to re-enter the business under local ownership.
It was after years of strategic planning between the Cannon family and Andy Byrd, a long-time friend of the family, that the decision was made and partnership formed to return to the funeral service business that the Cannon family has respectfully served since 1879.
It is the 130+ year history that led the Cannon-Byrd partnership to the name Heritage Funeral Home.
Today, Mr. James Cannon and Andy Byrd coordinate the management team and staff to provide personalized care to every family served.
